Rock and Rapid has now reopened and we want to provide you with clear guidance on the measures and precautions we are taking to protect our staff and customers and the safest advice for use of our facilities. When booking a session online please be aware that prices and times may differ from those previously advertised.
We are following the Government legislation and advice from our trade body, the ASSOCIATION OF BRITISH CLIMBING WALLS. The measures we have put in place may change as new advice and recommendations emerge.
We have followed the Government’s guidance on managing the risk of COVID-19 with the following steps:
- We’ve carried out a COVID-19 risk assessment and the results have been shared with the team and all employees.
- In line with the guidance we have cleaning, hand washing and hygiene procedures put in place for all staff and customers.
- We have a one way system in place to ensure the clean down between sessions is effective and efficient.
- We have taken all reasonable steps to maintain a 2m distance in the workplace.
- Where people cannot be 2m apart we have done everything practical to manage transmission risk.
- We have reduced the capacity of climbers and staff to minimise transmission risk.
- Due to the uncertain nature of the COVID-19 pandemic we have created a phased re-opening system based on the government’s guidelines. This allows us to adapt with any changes the government may make.
Important!
All customers must read and understand
It should be recognised that while climbing walls will take all reasonable steps to prevent the transfer of COVID-19 to its staff and customers, there will always be a risk that an infected person visits the centre and either through droplet transfer, aerosol action or smear infection, transfers the virus to others. Our customers should be made aware of this and make their own decision given their specific circumstances whether this small residual risk is one they are willing to take. The residual risk should be no greater than in many other public spaces and facilities that are already open.
Please do not visit the climbing centre if you have any signs of COVID-19 or have been in contact with anyone with signs in the past 14 days
Here are our requirements and guidelines for visiting Rock and Rapid climbing center safely
Face Coverings
You must wear a face covering in all non climbing areas of the centre. You may remove your face covering if you are climbing if required; or if you are eating or drinking in our cafe. If you are exempt from wearing a face covering as per Government guidelines then please inform a member of staff on arrival. It is strongly advised that you wear your mask whilst climbing where possible and whilst belaying unless you feel your communication with your partner is hindered.
Social Distancing
Please keep to the government guidelines and maintain a 2m distance between you and all other climbers. It is all our responsibility to protect others around us by keeping the correct distance whilst continuing to enjoy our activities.
Track and Trace
Where possible please use the NHS Track and Trace QR Code when entering the centre. If you do not have access to the app and at any stage have symptoms or concerns please refer to NHS advice immediately.
