Here at Rock and Rapid Adventures, we offer exciting birthday party packages to suit all ages, both on our roped climbing walls and in the bouldering centre.
We’re one of the top alternative birthday party venues in North Devon, giving your guests a day to remember doing something a little out of the ordinary. Your child and their friends can enjoy an hour and a half of climbing, lead by one of our qualified instructors. All the necessary equipment is included, meaning the whole group can have a fantastic time!
Of course, we do offer climbing parties for adults, too, which are particularly popular with stag and hen dos.
Children’s birthday parties at Rock and Rapid
So, what does a climbing party at Rock and Rapid Adventures involve?
When you arrive, you’ll be given a safety briefing and helped to fit all of the safety gear (harnesses and climbing shoes) before heading over to the wall.
Your group will then spend one-and-a-half hours climbing, supervised by an experienced instructor.
Participants will spend 45 minutes learning to climb on our roped walls, before heading into our bouldering centre for another 45 minutes of adrenaline-pumping bouldering.
Climbing is an awesome activity to celebrate a birthday. With a climbing party in North Devon, your guests will be able to bond, build their confidence and learn a new skill and have an amazing time– all while you are able to relax in our cafe and viewing balcony.
Our 1.5 hour climbing parties cost £15 per person, and are available for a minimum of 6 people.
Bouldering centre private hire
If you’re a long-time climber looking to celebrate a special day doing the thing you love, then why not hire out our entire bouldering room for your event?!
We offer private hire of the bouldering centre from 6-8 p.m. every weekend. These ‘after hours’ parties are the perfect choice for large groups of either adults or children, and are available for up to 20 people.
You’ll still have all the benefits of a guided session as an instructor will provide 45 minutes of bouldering training and games, followed by 45 minutes free for your guests to climb to their hearts’ content!
There’s then half an hour free for food if you choose to book a buffet meal on our balcony (at an additional £4pp).
Our bouldering parties in Devon are full of fun for all ages, whether it be a kids’ birthday party or an event for adults.
Our private boulder centre hire costs £200 for up to 20 people, and an extra £5 per additional person. Private hire parties are available from 6-8pm on Saturdays and Sundays.
We also offer gift vouchers for any of the activities we offer here at the centre. They’re the perfect present for adventurous souls, so give us a shout if you’d like any more information.
Food
For just £5 per person, we can also provide a birthday meal for your party. We offer a buffet-style meal featuring pizzas, hot dogs, chips and chicken nuggets.
We also sell a range of tasty snacks in our café, including crisps, cereal bars and flapjacks.
Should any of your guests have dietary requirements, please do let us know well in advance of your booking so that we can make alternative arrangements for their meal.
As a family of five who like to try new things, I can’t recommend this enough. The staff member who helped us was top class. Friendly, accommodating and keen. Although, we were all at different levels of experience, some of us complete notices at climbing – we all managed to spend an enjoyable couple of hours.
Really good day out and cater for all levels of ability. As complete beginners we were a bit nervous to begin with but soon got up to speed. Very good value for money.
To arrange a weekend that is a bit different and feels special is becoming harder to do so it was refreshing ti find somewhere that was happy to listen to our thoughts and ideas and let us run with them. Had a fantastic weekend that combined indoor climbing, raft building challenged and a monster design and build task to product a melon flinging catapult in a morning on a budget of £100. All in a really good time had by all with very relaxed and friendly staff. Would recommend for arranging those vents that are a bit more specialised.
I have been climbing here on and off for almost 4 years now. I keep coming back. This is by far one of the most friendly, helpful and safe climbing centres I have ever been to. The staff are constantly on guard for any mishaps and are very approachable with any and all concerns Especially talking through hypothetical situations and scenarios. Their knowledge is current and at the highest level. Definitely a place to go, and keep going.
I started climbing here about a year ago and love the atmosphere and people I meet. Ladies might, on a Monday which is run by Simmo has become a weekly must. (the coffee is pretty awesome too.) Great instruction is given on technique including safety) plus games are put together to improve climbing ability. I bring my nieces here and they love it. It’s exercise without feeling like you’re i a gym. I can’t recommend it enough!
We visited this whole on our holiday on a rainy day, my son enjoyed it so much he wanted to go back so we did. Twice! The staff are super friendly and very knowledgable. We will no doubt be back next year!
